BLOG # 8

                   The Matrix film and the play, Oedipus: The King have similarities beyond the eye can see.
 In the film as well as the play, The main characters were two very misguided indivisuals. Both characters, Neo and Oedipus; were confused when it came to there lives and the future that they were destined. Neo as well as Oedipus were living in ignorance. Neo and Oedipus were both thirsty for knowledge and wisdom beyond there control.

Oedipus like Neo went on a path to find out who he was as a person and what he was destined to be in life.
Both characters thought they were wise beyond there years. However, suspicion grew when they were approached by people who would begin the climax in both stories. For Neo, the turning point was Morpheus. Morpheus raised questions in Neo's mind which led him on a path to find himself. Oedipus was told by a friend in modern terms " you don't even know who the hell you are". Which led him on a journey to discover what everyone else already sees, that they just can't seem to find.

Neo and Oedipus live in ignorance not by choice, but by omission. Noone wanted to tell them who they were.The people they were close to, told them to find the answers for themselves. Which led both
characters to the Oracle. The Oracle was in both stories to tell them there future. In the Matrix film, Neo was told by Morpheus, that the Oracle will tell him what was destined to happen in his life. Neo didn't beleive in the Oracle. Oedipus was
